Beginning with timed exercises to study proportions and a range of poses, the course progresses to experiment with colour combinations, light and dark contrasts and a range of mark making techniques.
Learn to experiment with form, figure and layering, and explore the versatility of oil paint.
Through these guided sessions, you’ll produce a final oil painting to take home.

Julia Pomeroy is an oil painter from London, based in Leeds. She is currently a studio holder at Assembly House and is working towards a series of group exhibitions. Through an ongoing exploration of colour and light, her figurative paintings create narratives featuring figures within architecturally interesting and psychologically charged spaces.
