Our ever-popular Drink & Draw workshops are back with a new artist!

Lisa-Marie Dickinson will guide you through experimental drawing tasks and teach a variety of techniques and mediums.

In this session you will create a concertina sketchbook in which you will experiment with abstract mark making and collage.

Following prompts and using differing media, you will be led through a series of drawing tasks which will challenge you to fill your concertina book before the session is over, responding to the last mark you made to start the next page.

Drink & Draw is The Tetley’s regular series of live drawing events, inviting you to get creative in a relaxed, sociable atmosphere.

This event is intended for adults.

No previous experience is required, and all materials are provided.

About the artist

Lisa-Marie Dickinson encompasses drawing, sculpture and photography into their practice to explore the simultaneous importance and irrelevance of language throughout history and in the present day.

Centred around the exploration of language in it’s written, spoken and gestural forms, with a key interest in Asemic writing, they aim to explore the idea that line and mark can be language and language can be drawing, recognisable without adhering to the strict rules of the man-made alphabet.

  • Drink & Draw is hosted in our Bar & Kitchen on the ground floor. There are accessible toilets on the ground floor.
