Tetley's Associate Artists' Programme (TAAP) is a year-long development opportunity for four artists living, working or based in Leeds.
The selected artists receive mentoring, training, development and artist studio space hosted at The Tetley. It is designed for artists who are at a pivotal moment in their career and would significantly benefit from this development programme.
Artists receive: group TAAP sessions, documentation, a public-facing showcase, marketing and funding application support, time in our artists’ studio and a £1,500 budget to be spent on mentoring, studio visits, production and workshops.
An independent evaluation by Dr Jonathan Ward and Dr Robert Knifton cited that TAAP was successful in developing the artists’:
- Confidence: both in Associate Artists’ practices and in how they engage with the art world
- Focus: the programme provided a space, support and structure for Associate Artists to focus on their practice.
- Networks: associates highlighted the value of being able to take advantage of the The Tetley’s contacts.
“[TAAP] reminded me of the importance of peer review/discussion and gave me confidence in my practice.”
