The Tetley

Joshua Tetley’s Birthday Party

Sunday 20 July 2014, 11AM - 9PM

The year we launch a one-day festival of creativity at The Tetley in honour of the brewery’s founder, Joshua Tetley (1778-1859). This year he’d be 236 years old! This will be a celebration of all good things that make The Tetley a special place to be: contemporary art, industrial heritage, food and drink, creative activities for everyone.

Activities will include:
• Traditional barrel-making demonstrations by Alastair Simms of White Rose Cooperage, one of the UK’s last Master Coopers
• Balloon Race
• Traditional fun fair games on the Brewery Green
Open Archive displays from The Tetley Collection around the building
• Letterpress printing with artist in residence Aidan Moesby
A Watery Line exhibition by artist/designers Nous Vous on the first floor, with creative activities
• Drop-in creative activities for all the family, including heritage trails around the building

And much more!
