The Tetley

Bringing the Outside – Pyramid of Arts

10 - 23 June 2016

A exhibition by Pyramid of Arts Ribblehead group and artists Alison Andrews and Matthew Bellwood, responding to the local area around The Tetley and sharing ideas about journeys. The project is part of the 2016 Beyond Festival of learning disability and the arts in Leeds.

“From a second floor window in The Tetley, you can see for miles across Leeds. We chose a point in Holbeck, Pyramid of Arts base, to begin a walk towards The Tetley, looking carefully around us. We explored the ground, the sky and the buildings and thought about the earth, the air and the water. We are travellers, picking up souvenirs along the way. We have brought these in from the outside in for you to share. We will tell you our stories and show you what we have found.”

Pyramid of Arts is a collective of around 150 artists with and without learning disabilities who work together to explore and develop their creativity, and to make great art for a wide public.

This project is supported by Leeds Inspired.
